Focus On: School Holiday Travel

This school holidays we focused on building the practical life skills that help young people with disability grow in confidence and independence.

Our participants were out in the community learning everyday skills that make a real difference. From grocery shopping and choosing the items they needed, to using self-serve checkouts and completing card transactions, each experience helped build confidence in managing day-to-day tasks.

They also practised tapping on and off with their Go Cards while using public transport, developing the skills to travel more independently, before finishing the day by lending a hand cooking the BBQ for lunch. 🌭🛒🚌

Learning happens best through real-life experiences, and we’re proud to support our participants as they develop the knowledge, confidence, and independence to achieve their goals—one step at a time.
